The next owner of ironworks (after Anders Falck’s sons) was Antti Ahlström. He owned the ironworks in Noormarkku before the ironworks in Kauttua and he lived in Noormarkku. Wilhelm Ahlström moved to Kauttua in 1877 and renovated the manor. In the beginning of 20th century Kauttua was a lively village.
During the time of Independence in Finland, the biggest change in Kauttua was the building of paper factory (paper factory from about years 1920-30 in photograph). At first the factory got the area of Sepäntie to bustle people during market days. There were also post office, coffee shops and stores. After the war the center of production moved to a new area. At the same time the area of Sepäntie started to get quieter as the workers stopped moving along it.
