I turned 50 in 26.5.2001. I had invited the guests to the cabin. There were about 240 of them. The hall was completely filled with people, there were chairs and tables even in the hallway. The catering was from the Suontausta museum and I chose the foods they were offering. The celebration begun with a dance, instead of an ordinary waltz we had a “birdy dance”. Before we ate, my eldest daughter said a grace from Western-Finland. My youngest daughter sang for me accompanied by the orchestra. My husband gave a speech, which was about my life. These have been the best things in my life. During my birthday party I had to do only two things. First, I made a birch switch with the man from our neighbor; second, a good friend took me to the balcony to drink some sparkling wine. There we watched the guests party all night. That was a nice experience too.
