Kiperintie 83

During my childhood, there were no indoor swimming pools but I still remember the swimming classes. They were held in the bay of Kiperi and lasted all day and week. In the morning, we packed our lunch box and went to wait for the bus. Every child from our neighborhood was in Kiperi. As I recall the weather was always warm and sunny. We spent the days swimming and playing different games. When I grew older, we spent many fun filled summers in Kiperi.

The beach and camping area in Kiperi are meaningful places for me. I learned to swim there. It happened in the year 1976 when I was eight years old. At that time, my uncle and his wife were the owners of the camping area. That year I spent many weeks there, in other words I spent dozens of hours in the lake. Because of that I basically had to learn how to swim. Time certainly makes memories golden and I still think of that summer as a neat memory.
